We carry a heritage that traces its lineage directly back to deep connections with nature's sensory wisdom that connects all living things. Our earliest ancestors expressed this ancient intelligence in their myths, stories, songs, and art as well as their spiritual and healing practices. We must not let this precious heritage die.

We have the capacity to create our own stories...stories that are genuinely about us. We have the ability to live our own tales. We have the power to turn our own pages. And it's our choice to write ones that are new.

So why wallow in the false morass of other people's stories. It's unlikely they ever wanted the best for you anyhow. Get out of there. Begin to express your  life in your own words. It's not too late. START RIGHT NOW.

If you feel life pinching you and making blisters on your toes, maybe it's because you've been walking around crammed into someone else's woes. Cast them off now. Fit yourself into custom-made, perfectly-fitting tales. Your toes will thank you.

Your stories can only be true when you are the writer. Any words but your own are just another person's perception of what they think you are now or should be. And how crazy-making is that?

Being a bit crazy isn't the worst of things, especially if you're not that into people. So go ahead; make them think you're mad. They will surely assume you're dangerous, and leave you alone.

Words create community and words destroy it. Choose carefully.

A fanciful fairy fluttered fearlessly farther and farther afield, forgetting others' false stories about the dangers of being free.

"How fascinating," she thought, "To live my own fantasy for once."

It can be true of you, too. So don't be afraid, fine little fairy. Flee, flee, flee. And be finally free.

The only story you should ever heed has been whispering from your own soul since your moment of conception...the only one who can truly hear it is you. Listen.

Each story is a door.
Open it. Look in.
If a false story lies behind, slam it shut.
Open the next door.
If it might serve you well, go in.Wander around.
If it might fit, claim it as your own.

When you allow your fears to prevent you from revealing your true self to others, you create an unending circle of loneliness in which you will continue to live.

Break free of your fears, and a thousand paths of potential joy will open up to you.

To experience life through the stories told to you by other people is to explore a false world with blinders on your soul. Look with your own eyes; seek with your own heart.

Are you spending countless hours worrying about what might happen in your future? STOP! The only certainty about tomorrow is uncertainty. And the probability that novel, surprising, and unexpected things will happen to you is so great that dwelling on the future makes no sense. Can you predict your future with any certainty? No! You can't even come close.

So live for today. It's all you can really depend on to happen in this life.
