A
nurturing place where positive Ch'i abounds
|
|
Feng Shui suggests that human destiny can be enhanced by
living in harmony with Nature's nurturing wisdom that is found in all
things. Nature has blessed
EcoPlace
with many of Nature's
auspicious influences, including nearby mountains, water, forests, and fresh
air enhanced by gentle breezes that assure continual contact with the benign
'breath' of life. |
Feng Shui means "wind
and water"
|
|
Feng
Shui means "wind and water."
It speaks to the
topography of the land; its mountains, rivers, and valleys that are
shaped by the wind and water that flow
through it.
Feng Shui blends the wisdom of nature and the culture of people into
the mystical practice that has the magical power to shape circumstances.
Positive Feng Shui influences can enhance prosperity, wellness, and joy in
all facets of living. Good Feng Shui positioning can enhance personal
relationships, foster good health, promote prosperity, and bring honor to
all endeavors.
Favorable Feng Shui in business can encourage growth, increase
profitability, expand opportunities for success, and promote constructive working
relationships, all of which come from balance between the power of nature's "wind
and water."
Heeding Feng Shui's wisdom can enhance success in all aspects of life and
reward people with heightened personal, mental, emotional, and spiritual
wellness. Even the smallest adjustments to some part of one's life can
produce advantageous results. |

YIN and YANG
The Chinese believe there are two
cosmic forces, two opposing, yet complementary, energies that shape the
universe and everything in it.
They refer to these two energies as 'YIN' and 'YANG. Together Yin and Yang constitute
balanced whole known as TAO - or 'The Way' -
the eternal principle of heaven and earth in harmony.
Good auspicious
Feng Shui can only be created when there is balance and harmony between Yin and Yang. |

Ch'i
is most favorable when one's surroundings are varied and in harmony with
each other. When the energy from all these influences
is in harmonious balance, prosperity and abundance flourish.
Sun
and shade are in balance at
EcoPlace.
In summer, warm early morning sun
rising over
EcoPlace
gives way to cool afternoon shade as the
sun
glides beyond the rim of Cape Horn.
The
Yang of
EcoPlace
and Cape Horn are balanced by the Yin of the gently
flowing Columbia River.
In its lower gardens, a peaceful balance between Yin and Yang is achieved through a careful
blending of earth, water, fire. metal, and wood.
The
grounds surrounding
EcoPlace
combine level areas for flower and vegetable
gardening with grass pastures and gently flowing slopes covered with
abundant high and low natural vegetation. |

EcoPlace
sits in a most
auspicious Feng Shui horseshoe or
armchair position.
To the north, the Columbia River Gorge bluffs,
(Black Turtle,) provide
solid support and protection from harsh north winds.
Quinn
Mountain,
(Green Dragon,) is a high protector to the east.
The lower cliffs of Cape Horn, the sleeping White Tiger,
are guardians to the west. (Cape Horn lies
entirely in the protected Scenic Area so the Tiger
will never be disturbed.) |

GOOD FORTUNE is encouraged |
 |
|
EcoPlace
exemplifies Feng Shui
principles in many ways:
-
The
soft sounds of wind
chimes counter the weight of overhead beams
and sharpness of protruding corners.
-
The
expansive southerly facing windows welcome abundant light to encourage prosperity and happiness.
-
Color
abounds to foster happiness and joy.
-
Round tables are used
to represent luck
from heaven, wherever possible.
-
Gracefully,
musically flowing water is prominently featured. Birdbaths, fountains and a Koi pond with waterfall
encourage good fortune.
-
The
curved driveway passes
at right angle to the entry door and is of even width to avoid any constrictions.
The drive goes all the way around the dwelling, which attracts good luck because Chi flows
in a circular fashion.
-
The window to the kitchen auspiciously faces east. Less auspicious
features of
EcoPlace
are countered by
strategic placement of mirrors, crystals, and wind chimes.
